Difficulty is a game mechanic that changes the gameplay and aspect of the game. There are only two difficulties in both games, named differently as "Fetish" (Standard) and "Hardcore" (Hardest) for Manhunt and "Sane" (Standard) and "Insane" (Hardest) for Manhunt 2.

The difficulties can be changed anytime, but not during gameplay.

Differences in ManhuntEdit

FetishEdit

  • You can get a rating of 4 stars in this difficulty, however you can't get the maximum of 5.
  • A minimap appears that helps you know where the enemy is by showing up as an arrow (which indicates where he's looking at as well). In which case, if the hunter is unaware, he'll be yellow. If he's suspicious, he'll be orange. If he's after you, he'll be red. It also helps you know if you made a noise or not, by making a red radial pulse.
  • Hunters are a lot more easy to beat face-to-face, but it is still not recommended.
  • Hunters mostly take it slow to react.

HardcoreEdit

  • It is possible to get a score of 5 stars if you do a spectacular show.
  • The minimap is removed.
  • The Hunters deal more damage with their guns, they're also slightly more accurate, making even long-range gun battles dangerous and prompting more cover than in Fetish.
  • Hunters are harder to beat face-to-face even by the weakest ones possible like The Hoods.
  • Hunters will easily spot you, but not in the shadows.

Differences in Manhunt 2Edit

SaneEdit

  • You can only get a rating of 3 stars in this difficulty, no matter if you did a spectacular show worth 4 or 5.
  • A minimap appears that helps you know where the enemy is by showing up as an arrow (which indicates where he's looking at as well). In which case, if the hunter is unaware, he'll be yellow. If he's suspicious, he'll be orange. If he's after you, he'll be red. It also helps you know if you made a noise or not, by making a red radial pulse.
  • Hunters can be easily beaten face-to-face.

InsaneEdit

  • It is possible to get a score of 4 or 5 stars if you do a spectacular show.
  • The minimap is removed.
  • Hunters react faster when fighting face-to-face, making it difficult (depending on the player's playstyle).
