The Heads-Up Display, often abbreviated as the HUD, is a set of indicators used in the Manhunt series to show the player's health, weaponry, ammunition, stamina, time, score, the current stance of a protagonist, subtitles and the player's icon when hiding in the darkness.
HUD in Manhunt and Manhunt 2 is very different, so far, Manhunt is the only game in the series to have many indicators. In Manhunt's HUD the health and the stamina represents as bars, the yellow is the stamina while the green is the health. The left side of the bars is the player stance and the upper is the weapons icon. The clock and the counter only appears in some bonus missions and appears at the top middle of the screen. In Manhunt 2, only the weapons and the health icons appear in the game. Radar is a fundamental indicator in the game, it tells wheteher a hunter will appear, alerted or spot you but in hard difficulty, the radar will be gone. It is a small map showing the location of the player, hunters, items, the objectives and where the player must go or will go. Also the radar displays the amount of noise produced by the player or other hunters when shooting, running, kicking walls, etc. However, the radar does not display the amount of noise when hunters or Cash talking and yelling.
When the player performs an execution, all HUD items change to camera-like indicators, imitating a movie filming process.
- Weapon selected and ammunition
- Stamina (Manhunt)
- Clock (Manhunt)
- Kills counter (Manhunt)
- It's possible that the radar in Manhunt was meant to have each level map on it, as there are textures for it in the game files.
